To talk about ABCD SLOT CAR , I have to go back to my childhood in the 70's when I won my AUTORAMA ESTRELA SUPER CURVA series. I remember my father, today I live only in my memories, arriving at our house with his 1967 Beetle and asking me to help him take a box out of the car. Upon arriving at the garage at home and opening the door of the white Beetle, my eyes froze at the sight of that huge box that took up the entire back seat of the car.
I'm absolutely sure that it all started at that moment... I loved preparing and painting my cars, using water stickers called “decals”. I was very inspired by a motorsport team at the time that was sponsored by HOLLYWOOD , a cigarette brand. It was a national team, but it is very important to remember that in the 70's most F1 teams were sponsored by famous brands of cigarette manufacturers.
In 1982, at the age of 14, I achieved my greatest achievement: reaching 8th place in a professional slot machine race in the FREE FORCE category. I keep this medal to this day as a trophy for my unconditional effort to take a competition car assembled by me, with my very limited resources at the time and, of course, with the body (bubble) hand-painted in the colors of the HOLLYWOOD team, which were blue, red and white.
Later I fell more and more in love with the hobby that here in Brazil is called slot car and abroad.
I graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of São Paulo in 1989 in the Industrial Design course, but still in love with what caught my attention the most, the design of the bodies (bubbles).
Then in 1992, I venture to be part of a professional slot machine shop society called HOT SPEED.
Thus, in 1994, ABCD – Air Brush Company Design was born, the first national company specializing in Autorama and Radio Controlled car paintings. Several opportunities arise in this segment of personalized paintings and ABCD ventures into paintings and airbrushing works in the most varied products, such as jet ski, helmet, motorcycle, and everything that the imagination could allow.
At first, all activities were carried out exclusively by me, but, with the great demand, ABCD hires a team of young artists and at this moment starts to serve large national manufacturers and international distributors.
In 2009, another accurate, firm and strong step within the segment, when ABCD started to manufacture automatic chassis (bubbles) in 1/32 and 1/24 scales and started to apply elaborate product design concepts allied to the visual communication that was already widely known acquired over its almost 15 years.
Now in 2022, ABCD – Air Brush Company Design is renamed ABCD SLOT CAR , because in addition to its potential as a paint manufacturer, bodybuilder and chassis manufacturer for competition, it also becomes the approved national distributor of an American company. called MID AMERICA and, with that, it increases its product portfolio, covering the follow-up in an integral way in the supply of components and complete cars for the practice of the hobby.
I dedicate my success to the person who has always been with me on this journey, my wife Isabel Cristina Vogel who, to this day, helps me in the management of this company, and also to my dear nephew Luís Otavio in posthumous tribute as my greatest working partner at ABCD , in hobby and in life.
